Once In A While..

So the unthinkable happened.. I finally turned that awkward age of 24. So far though, it's been pretty good! On Friday I headed into town to try and find a Birthday appropriate outfit for my evening of cocktails, however, much to my dismay, I found nothing appropriate. What I did find though, was enough of a consolation for me that I didn't really mind.. and that would be this beaut of a dress from Forever 21.
The lace bell sleeves totally nail the 70's trend which fills me with joy, and it's the perfect length to wear with my knee high socks, which again.. is another brucey bonus! I can eat in it, and swish around in it.. it basically has all of the qualities I look for in a dress! It's not so great in the wind though.. I mean.. put it this way.. some extremely X rated photo's nearly made themselves onto this blog today.  I wanted to 'edge' the look up a little (preferably not via showing off my underwear) and so I added my trusty chunky Topshop boots and a classic leather jacket. Oh, and of course, my all time fave CT 'Pillow Talk' lip liner and that 'I haven't bothered' smudgey eye. Mmmm.
Now then, if that wasn't enough to send me into my Birthday weekend brimming with joy, what happened next certainly was. I woke up on Saturday morning to a lovely little parcel from Bug Jewellery who you can find over on The babes over at Jewelstreet had contacted me a few weeks previous to this to see if I wanted to test out their website and pick my favourite item from their super huge collection. I obviously leapt at the chance and after much deliberation, I went for this beautiful entwined ring from Bug Jewellery. ( Trust me, it was tough.. my lust list was certainly added to after even a short browse.) Just in case you haven't heard of Jewelstreet, they run a website devoted to jewellery boutiques, selling items from over 250 independent jewellery designers and brands - so maybe now you can understand how tough it was to pick just one thing? Still, I swoon every time I get a glimpse of my ring so I'm more than happy with my choice. I found the whole experience to be totally user friendly and it's easy to narrow down what you're looking for by designer, type, trend and more, so all in all, they get a massive thumbs up from me!

The ring I chose was part of Bug's custom text range and so I had the option to keep their suggested, 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' text, or I could pick my own! I chose a quote that's really helped to push me into new and exciting things in the past few months. I stumbled across it on pinterest (story of my life) whilst struggling to make a pretty huge life decision and it really resonated with me. Sometimes you've just got to stop being so bothered about what people think and do something that you'd never expect of yourself. It's really made me think of things in a different way and I'd love it if it could do the same for you.
