Never A Frown, With Golden Brown

So the weekend started terribly, which I won't go into too much - mainly because it then took a massive turn up for the books when I went into town and bought my new camera. (Which I am now more in love with than is socially acceptable) I've been saving up for it since I graduated nearly a year ago so it felt pretty good to finally be able to get it. (For those of you interested, I bought the Canon 60D with the 18 - 135mm lens)
And so with this, new love of my life firmly attached to me at all possible moments, I felt it appropriate to do another outfit post.
Mainly I wanted to show you my vintage brown leather jacket, which I've fallen back in love with since the warm weather hasn't quite managed to stick around. (Fingers crossed it comes back, I can't hack tights any longer!)

Vintage Jacket, Topshop Shirt, Jeans & Shoes, Asos Ring, Miss Selfridge Watch

I wore this to work today as I had to be up pretty early and just felt like something chilled and comfy. Little did I know I'd be hanging large wooden objects from the ceiling so I guess it worked out pretty well that I didn't dress up!

In other news, I'm pretty stoked to now have five followers on Bloglovin (after originally getting excited at my very first follower which actually turned out to be myself.. shame.. I'm pretty impressed with having five)
So a BIG HELLO & THANKS to you guys!!

I'm fully intending to spend the rest of the evening snuggled up in my duvet with a good cuppa, aside from when I cook my thai noodle soup (Actually getting ingredients out of the fridge as we speak.. sooooo hungry) and potentially to tidy my room.. but probably not.

How have you spent your monday?

Be The Person Your Dog Thinks You Are

Wouldn't it be great if we were all a little kinder to each other, a little less quick to judge, and a little more compassionate?

Meet Sandy

Sandy thinks I'm awesome, and well... I'd say that means she must be a pretty decent judge of character. (joke/not joke) Jokes/not jokes aside, I think that something I've realised in the past few years is not to sweat the small stuff. Sometimes people can be short with you, sometimes people can be too busy for you but it doesn't mean they hate you and if they do; well then it's their loss. All you can do is be the very best you. Ups and downs. If you feel pressured to be the 'fun' you 100% of the time you're probably hanging out with the wrong people. Even the most awesome person in the world is an idiot sometimes.

Sandy thinks I'm confident. She'd be wrong there. Confidence is something I think I could do with a little more of, and I think us girls tend to be lacking in it more so. (Sorry boys. I know I'm generalising here but I'd say on average, you rarely have to deal with adjusting outfits to not show your bulges(( you don't have as many as we do)) & most of you don't have to make sure you make the correct foundation purchase for your current((IT CHANGES)) skin tone to avoid looking like an oompa lumpa or a dead version of yourself.) Confidence is so much more than the way we look though. Sometimes it's having the confidence to say "This isn't what I want" or, "Actually, I think I'm gonna do this my way". This is much more important I think. Having the confidence to know what you want.. and then to stick by it.. to not constantly second guess yourself and to be able to make decisions based on the dreams that you hope you can fulfill, rather than giving up at the first hurdle. That's confidence.

Sandy thinks I'm predictable. I think there's something to be said for being predictable. (Don't mistake this for boring though.) You can be predictably exciting, or even predictably spontaneous.. ( I think)I guess being predictable just means that your personality stays the same. My guess would be that this would only happen when you're remaining true to yourself? I don't think it would be predictable for me to go and get an accounting job, just like I don't think it would be predictable for me to stop complaining about having no money whilst simultaneously shopping. It's probably predictable that I have a breakdown every other day about what I'm doing with my life & the fact that I haven't made any art since graduating. If I was trying to be someone different though, I probably wouldn't be doing those things that make me predictable & so in this case, I'm quite happy to be predictable.

In reality, Sandy doesn't think. She just does. But the case still stands that the person I am in her eyes, is the person I aspire to be in others eyes (that are non animal based)

Nice To Meet You

 Hello!
So this may be a little bit delayed but I thought perhaps I'd tell you a little bit about me, so we can get to know each other! (This means you need to comment so I can find your blog and get to know you too)
I thought the best way to do this without it becoming incredibly boring for both you and me, is in the form of FIVE FUN FACTS.(Okay so I can't promise fun.. but facts I can promise!)

Fun Fact Number One: I Love Wood
Okay, so, I guess I was trying to not be cliche and all ; 'I'm 23 and I have a Fine Art Degree &blaaaah' however this now just seems a little creepy. However, I do love a good bit of wood. Anything made out of a tree and I'm all over it! I currently make jewellery out of the lovely stuff. (which I'll be posting a link to in a couple of weeks if you're interested)

Im drinking Strawberry & Cream tea by Charbrew, found here

Fun Fact Number Two: I Can Put Up A Decent Shelf
I am the man of the house. Now, I'm not one to blow my own trumpet in any way but there is one thing I will say - I'm pretty decent at DIY. Currently boasting my own -made from scratch - wardrobe, and with a degree in basically building stuff, I'd say you can rely on me for any shelves that need putting up!

Fun Fact Number Three: Contrary To The Above... I Am Female!
Yes, I know it is hard to believe. I refused to believe it myself when I was younger and playing football with all of the boys but eventually, the moment came that I never imagined ; I began to like dresses. (And pink) Who would've thought it! If you were to take one look at my bedroom I'd like to think you'd never imagine my small boy-like self as you stumble over my endless pairs of shoes.

Fun Fact Number Four: I Am Addicted To Buying Cameras
 Say hello to my beauties:

Cameras are a mix of vintage, Lomo, Fujifilm and Samsung

(I couldn't include my Canon DSLR here, as I used it to take the photo!)
Most of my cameras, (And definitely my favourite ones) are film. I just love the anticipation of getting the film developed and seeing photo's you could only hazard a guess at by looking through the viewfinder. Unfortunately, this can get pretty expensive - especially as a financially struggling graduate trying to get enough money together to move out. I find that the pressure of the money lost if the shots don't go well definitely effects the way you feel about using each precious section of film and so I try to put this to the back of my mind. (Which isn't too hard when you love taking photo's as much as I do!)
I recently did my first baby shoot and am so excited to add this to my portfolio. It was such a lovely experience and I can't wait to do more!

Fun Fact Number Five: I Don't Have A Gallbladder
I am completely gallbladderless! I had it removed about five weeks ago now and am finally starting to feel like myself again. (Minus a tiny organ) I desperately wanted to keep it in a jar (Yes I know you may think it's gross, but I was planning a whole art piece around it....It was gonna be sick. Honest). Yeah.. they wouldn't let me do that.

HOW EXCITING WAS THAT THEN.
Why don't you do the same? I'd love to know five fun facts about you!

p.s If anyone out there wants to follow me well that would just be super awesome!

I Like Big Hats And I Cannot Lie

Hello Everybody!! Welcome to my shiny new blog! ( I wish it actually was shiny).
So to crack things off, I thought I'd do a little outfit post, it seems to be the thing to do nowadays and quite honestly, I have missed doing these since leaving lookbook behind many years ago. It also gives me an opportunity to play with my new lens - which is always a bonus in my book.

Topshop Hat & Shoes, Boohoo Dress,  H&M Kids Denim Jacket, New Look Bag & Glasses, Handmade Ring

I had been eyeing up this hat ever since I went in for my operation and on the first day I was able to leave the house I went and bought it! I'm also a little bit in love with this bag! It was only £17.99 and looks lovely with so many things. It also has a detachable zipped compartment inside which makes it so versatile. I could also go into detail about the masses of money I have recently spent on Boohoo, but I won't right now as it will make me feel awful and I don't quite fancy facing up to how poor I am right now. You're never really poor as long as you have love from family and friends, passion that drives you and rather nice hats and bags anyway. Right?

What have you been spending all your money on recently?
